I. Benefits of Origami
In our childhood, we often played with origami, and the author also loves origami. In fact, origami has many benefits. Here are six benefits of origami for children:
1. Improve hands-on ability.
During the origami process, children’s hands-on ability can be improved. By folding ordinary pieces of paper into various beautiful shapes, children’s hands-on ability gradually improves during the origami process.
2. Cultivate patience and carefulness.
Origami is a meticulous task. Every crease and step requires carefulness, otherwise it is easy to fold it wrong. Origami also requires patience, especially for some complex origami with many steps. Only by persevering to the end can the result be folded.
3. Learn to think independently.
During the origami process, children will think about a series of questions, such as “Why is this step folded like this” and “What will it look like after folding”. So, unconsciously, children learn to think independently.
4. Exercise coordination ability.
Origami requires the cooperation of eyes, hands and brain. Thus, during the origami process, children’s coordination ability is exercised.
5. Cultivate spatial thinking.
Each origami is a three-dimensional object. Therefore, during the origami process, children’s spatial thinking can be cultivated. If children don’t understand solid geometry, they can also understand it through origami.
6. Enrich spare time.
During their spare time after school, children can also do origami to enrich their lives and kill boring time. If a child takes origami as a hobby, it is also a good choice.
II. Content
Today, the origami handicraft we are making is a small red envelope. Let those who love you fill it up.
Steps:
1. Prepare a square piece of origami paper. Of course, use red for the red envelope. Fold it diagonally to make a crease, and then fold one corner up to the center.
2. Fold it up continuously. Then divide the bottom edge into three equal parts. After finding the trisection lines, fold the right side back first, and then the left side back. Pay attention to aligning the edges.
3.
4. Fold the pointed corner back a little. Cut a little at the black part in the middle of the small slit. It will be cuter if it is adjusted into the shape of a heart. Finally, just fold the upper part down and insert it.
