Today, we will teach you how to make a simple yet beautiful flower and grass paper lantern. You will need a pack of white tissue paper or a roll of toilet paper, some small flowers and grass, a bottle of white glue, a bowl, a brush, and a string of LED lights.
Step 01: Inflate the balloon to a suitable size, tie it securely, and place it on an object that can support the balloon.
Step 02: Generally, a tissue paper has 3 to 4 layers.
We need to separate the multi-layered tissue paper into single layers first. Then, using a brush, apply water to each single layer of tissue paper and stick them onto the balloon until the entire balloon is covered. Note that the tied part of the balloon does not need to be covered with tissue paper.Step 03: Mix a bottle of white glue with an equal amount of clear water in a 1:1 ratio. Then, dip the brush into the mixed glue and apply it to the first layer of tissue paper, followed by attaching the second layer.
Remember to separate multi-layered tissue paper into single layers before sticking. Repeat the same method for the third layer of tissue paper.Step 04: On the third layer of tissue paper, randomly attach some small flowers and grass, then cover them with a layer of tissue paper. Note that more glue should be applied to prevent the tissue paper from falling off.
Step 05: Air-dry for 12 hours.
Step 06: Pop the balloon and remove it, trim the edges of the flower and grass lantern opening; then, symmetrically make two small holes at the opening and thread a string to create a handle; finally, place an LED light inside the lantern. A beautiful flower and grass paper lantern is now complete! This lantern can also be used as a lampshade for a nightlight!
