This is a very simple pendant suitable for bare stones larger than 5x7mm. Beginners can make it in half an hour. The self-made stone-setting pendant has simple wire materials and a unique style, and is very easy to match with various square-cut gemstones. Let’s get started!

Materials:
1. One 6x8mm rectangular cut bare stone.
2. Approximately 15cm of 0.5mm or 0.6mm square wire.
3. Approximately 25cm of 0.25mm or 0.3mm thin wire.
4. 6 to 7 2mm small gold beads.
Steps:
1. Prepare the materials.
2. At about three-fifths of the square wire, fold it into the shape shown in the following figure along the side dimension of the bare stone. Note that wire A is below (wire A is the longer end, wire B is the shorter end, and the three-fifths point of this wire is the point where wire B is folded below).
3. Continue to fold closely along the slope of the back of the stone. The blurred line in the following figure is the end of wire A. The third picture is the back of the stone.
4. Fold wire A up along the slope of the back of the stone as well. The front appearance after folding:
5. Face the front of the stone towards yourself. Use round-nose pliers to bend the right wire downwards, then continue to bend the right wire upwards, closely against the wire next to it. Try to make the gap between the two wires as small as possible. Then fold the right wire towards the inside of the stone. As shown in the figure, note that when folding upwards, the short wire is on the inside of the long wire next to it. The back appearance after folding:
6. Next, use round-nose pliers to bend the left wire.
7. After bending the left wire down, string on the small beads, and at the same time thread the thin wire through the beads. The following figure is the front of the stone.
8. After stringing on the beads, bend the left wire upwards as well. Cut the left wire at the third bead, and fold the wire end inwards to make a small hook.
9. On the back, as shown in the following figure, use the thin wire coming out of the beads to tie all adjacent thick wires together. Deal with the wire end of the left thick wire like this:
This moonstone is approximately 6x8mm, and the square wire is 0.5mm. If you use a thicker wire and a slightly larger stone, it’s also okay, such as 7×9, 8×10, 10×12.
TIPS:
When winding the frame, make sure to wind it as closely as possible around the stone so that the stone is held firmly.
Try to choose bare stones with sharp corners. Facets with chamfers, such as emerald cuts, may not be held tightly and may require a little glue applied later.
Try to make the bending arcs of the wires on both sides as consistent as possible, especially the four wires below should be wound neatly.
