Gauge

Stockinette stitch: 22 stitches × 30 rows = 10 × 10 cm (using size 3.5 needles)

Interlaced knitting pattern (slightly stretched): 40 stitches × 30 rows = 10 × 10 cm (using size 3.5 needles)

Important note

The knitting gauge should be consistent with the specified gauge, especially the width. If only one value is given in the instructions, it applies to all sizes.

Knitting steps

Back piece

Cast on: Cast on 226 (226) stitches with size 3 needles and knit in double rib (2 purl, 2 knit). The first row is a wrong side row (purl 2 at the beginning and end of the row).

Continue knitting: Knit according to the pattern. After 3 rows, change to size 3.5 needles and continue knitting double rib.

Change pattern: When the knitting length reaches 20 cm, start knitting the interlaced knitting pattern according to the knitting diagram.

Neck shaping: When the length of the back piece reaches 64 (66) cm, leave 48 stitches in the middle unknit and work the two sides separately. Decrease 2 stitches each row from the inside, 2 times in total.

Shoulder shaping: At the same time, from the outside, decrease 28, 28, 29 (35, 35, 35) stitches each row to complete the shoulder shape.

Front piece

The knitting method is the same as the back piece, but the neckline is deeper.

Neck shaping: When there are 10 cm left from the hem (aligned with the last decreasing part of the back piece), leave 20 stitches in the middle and work the two sides separately. Decrease 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1 stitches each row from the inside to complete the front neck shape. Align with the decreases of the back piece to ensure symmetry.

Sewing

Sew the shoulders. The sewing thread should not be stretched too much.

Sleeve Needle Picking:
Centered on the shoulder seam, count 71 (75) rows on each side and mark with stitch markers. Using size 3.5 needles, pick 142 (150) stitches between the two stitch markers, picking 1 stitch per row.

Cuff Double Rib:
Knit in a 2 – over – 2 rib pattern.

Cuff Bind – off:
K1, sl 1 k2tog psso (left – slanting 2 – stitch decrease), knit until the last 3 stitches, k2tog (right – slanting 2 – stitch decrease), K1.

After knitting 3 rows, perform the first decrease: Then, alternate binding off every 4 rows and every 6 rows until 102 (110) stitches remain.

Completing the Sleeve:
When the sleeve length reaches 42 (43) cm, change to size 3 needles and knit 3 rows of double rib, then bind off according to the pattern.

Final Sewing:
Sew the sleeves and the sides together, paying attention to aligning the patterns.

Neckline Knitting Needle Picking (starting from the right – shoulder seam):
For the curved part: Pick 7 stitches at each curve.

For the middle part of the neckline: Pick 1 stitch in each closed stitch loop.

For the straight part: Pick 5 stitches every 6 rows (i.e., skip 1 row every 7 rows). The total number of stitches should be a multiple of 4.

Neckline Knitting:
Change to size 3 circular needles and knit in a 2 – under – 2 rib pattern in the round.

Bind – off:
When the neckline width is approximately 12 cm, bind off according to the pattern.
